How long does it take to clear a green pool?

How much does green pool recovery cost in Melbourne?

Why is my pool green when my chlorine reads high?
A test showing high total chlorine can hide low free chlorine. Other common causes are too much cyanuric acid (stabiliser) slowing chlorine down, high pH, and dissolved metals such as copper that tint water green with no algae at all. A full water test sorts out which one it is.
My pool turned green after winter. What should I do first?
Don't just add chlorine. Remove debris, brush walls and floor, run the pump, and get the water tested so the treatment matches the cause. Our post-winter pool clean covers start-up if the water is only cloudy.
Is it safe to swim in a green pool?
We don't recommend it. Algae-affected water usually means low sanitiser, and surfaces can be slippery. Wait until the water is clear and tested.
Should I drain a green pool?
Usually no. Draining can damage the shell or liner and rarely fixes the cause. Treating and filtering the water is the standard approach.
What is the SLAM method?
SLAM stands for Shock, Level and Maintain. You raise free chlorine to a shock level for the stabiliser in your pool, hold it until the water is clear and passes an overnight chlorine-loss test, and then return to normal levels.
