We offer both services independently or as a bundled package for full event coverage. Here's exactly what we do at each visit.
-
Full Water Chemistry Test & Balance
We test pH, chlorine, alkalinity, stabiliser, and calcium hardness, then dose your pool to ideal swimmer-safe levels. Essential when 10–30+ people will be swimming.
-
Shock Treatment (if required)
If the water has been sitting idle or shows early algae growth, we apply a shock dose 24–48 hours before your event for crystal-clear results in time.
-
Vacuum Pool Floor & Walls
Manual vacuum or robotic cleaning removes all settled debris, fine particles, and any early algae from pool surfaces — the foundation of great water clarity.
-
Brush Walls, Steps & Corners
Algae and biofilm love corners and steps. Brushing ensures no slippery surfaces and prevents rapid regrowth during the event.
-
Skim Surface & Empty Baskets
Leaves, insects, and debris removed from the surface and pump/skimmer baskets cleared for optimal circulation during high-use periods.
-
Pump & Filter Check
We confirm your pool equipment is running correctly and your filter is clean. A struggling pump on party day is the last thing you need.
-
Written Water Report
You'll receive a digital water test result so you know your pool is guest-ready — ideal for peace of mind before a children's party or corporate event.
Timing Your Pre-Party Clean
Ideal: 24–48 Hours Before
For best results, book your pre-party clean 24 to 48 hours before guests arrive. This allows enough time for any chemical adjustments to fully circulate and stabilise. If your event is on a Saturday, we recommend a Thursday clean.
For pools with visible issues (cloudiness, algae tinge), we recommend booking 72+ hours in advance. Our emergency pool cleaning service is available for same-day urgent situations.
💡 Pro Tip: Increase your pump's running time to 10–12 hours per day in the 3 days leading up to your event.
-
Emergency Chemical Re-Balance
After a heavy swim load, chlorine gets consumed rapidly and pH can shift significantly. We re-test and re-dose immediately to prevent the water from going green overnight.
-
Sunscreen & Body Oil Treatment
Sunscreen is a major pool contaminant — it binds with chlorine and creates chloramines (that "pool smell"). We treat for combined chlorine and oxidise organic contaminants with shock treatment.
-
Full Vacuum of Floor & Walls
Food particles, sunscreen residue, and debris settle quickly after a party. A thorough vacuum prevents it from becoming a water quality issue within 24–48 hours.
-
Brush All Pool Surfaces
Party use accelerates biofilm formation on walls and steps. Brushing immediately post-event keeps algae from gaining a foothold, especially in Melbourne's warmer months.
-
Filter Backwash or Clean
Your filter will have worked hard. We backwash or clean the filter media to restore full flow rate and filtration efficiency for the recovery period. If needed, we can arrange a full filter service.
-
Debris Removal from Deck Area
We tidy up leaf litter and pool debris from the surrounding deck area as part of the post-event restoration — leaving you with a clean pool AND a presentable outdoor space.
-
Post-Event Water Report & Recommendation
You'll receive a full water test result post-service, plus any recommendations for ongoing maintenance or follow-up if your pool needs closer attention in the days following.
Timing Your Post-Party Clean
Ideal: Within 12–24 Hours
The sooner we can get in after your party, the better. Within 12–24 hours prevents sunscreen and organic contamination from exhausting your chlorine and triggering algae growth — especially in summer.
Leaving a post-party pool unserviced for 48+ hours significantly increases the risk of a green pool, which requires a more intensive and costly green pool recovery treatment.
💡 Pro Tip: Keep your pump running on full speed for 24 hours after your event while you wait for us to come in.
